Usually i will have about 2-3k gold before I start using tournament to make me tons of money. After I find 3-5 companions(at least 1 focused in medical and 1 in movement who stay back in every battle), I begin to get my ecomony going once i get my first set of 25+chest 10+leg armor by looking for tournaments. Nothing worse than going into battle under equiped against 20+ heavy knights.Īfter I have been accepted as a mercenary somewhere I focus on going from town to town looking for companions/work that i can do rather easily(deliver wine, ransom the girl, troublesome bandits). I typically ignore it and continue my quests unless i am close by and we are doing fairly well.
I let them pay for my troops at the start then go do my own thing. you can ask the same lord over and over if he has jobs. This will pay for your troops wages and give you opportunties to get renown and loot. This should be enough to tide you over for the early game.ħ.Recruit troops from the Reach and the Westerlands until your army is full, then accept a mercenary contract with any of the Westeros factions that are at war with someone.
